Razzle Dazzle* is a dance nightclub with two bars, a Mediterranean restaurant, and various areas, located in a picturesque place of the city with a beautiful view of the ancient Kyiv hills.
* - Dazzle ship is an art movement from World War I and means "camouflage color of warships." Razzle Dazzle means "dazzling game," a game on a cruise liner.
A fascinating space with panoramic windows around the perimeter was associated with a cruise liner, which determined the style of the future interior. Developing the idea, we created a radial staircase and a dome of overhead lighting. Various lighting methods have proved to be essential for creating effects and illusions. Onboard a luxury yacht, guests can immerse themselves in the American culture of modern Fitzgerald. Brilliant "Holiday that is always with you," unbridled life energy in the shell of Art Deco.
The entrance area is the first immersion in the world of music, light, freedom of emotions, and new experiences. The entrance portal is made of glossy wood with smoothed corners. Light bands create the effect of multiple reflections, glare, and reflexes.
The first guests are greeted by a long radius-shaped contact bar. It is made of brass, natural stone, and glossy wood. Then the floor's geometric pattern leads to the epicenter of events – the stage, the central music platform of the institution. Finally, the dance floor area is conditionally limited by a pattern and columns with glowing capitals.
DJ-place – like the captain's cabin of a ship running on the waves. It is located on a platform with a wall of glass elements in frosted glass. The vertical row of lamps during the day – the illusion of the porthole, which shows the sun's reflected rays on the surface of the water. These are the lights of the port and the seaside town in the evening and at night. When the light scenes are turned on simultaneously, the feeling of a carnival in Latin America, a holiday with volleys of fireworks and its reflection on the surface of the water, is created.
The lounge area is reminiscent of being in the hold of a luxury liner. Pillars of light shining from the hatches in the floor through the holes in the countertops create the illusion of the presence of waves. Caution: there is so much sea here that seasickness can catch up! The play of light and shadow creates a unique and mysterious atmosphere in the interior.
The interior's main semantic and visual dominant is a spiral staircase made of labradorite, which forms the atrium space. Hundreds of glass elements are like thousands of frozen prosecco bubbles. These are millions of rays refracted in the reflection of the next wave, which covers the audience with its brilliance and luxury.
A projector with a lens was chosen to illuminate the dome, creating the effect of water clouds or being underwater.
Many lamps create the effect of four ocean waves: above the bars of the first and second floors, above the stairs, and the area of the DJ platform. Five types of glass elements of different lengths are made by hand. The total number of luminaires is +1369 units, and their full length is 422 meters. Each of the 1,369 luminaires has individual lighting.
Ultramarine and emerald, the noble luster of brass, the elegance of bent wooden surfaces and radial elements, stone surfaces, and chic velours – the main features against the background of a graphic drawing on the floor, designed by English artist and naval officer Norman Wilkinson.
